In the wake of community tragedy I am reminded that we still live in a world of wonders. In the last few days I’ve dusted my real camera off and made a commitment to myself that I’m going to work on taking more photos, not only of the natural world, but of the people I love. This used to be a practice of mine, but over the years I’ve thought why bother? This last week has been a reminder that we don’t have our people around us forever, and we’ll wish that we had more of them when they are gone. So here’s to a renewed photography practice, one that is not about making art, but about remembering life.
