Wish I could just get to the fish.

I’ve been ridiculously hard-working lately at my paid job which is partly an offshoot of trying to get in everyone’s good books so my move to Victoria can happen. Who knows if it will work – but it makes me feel like I’m doing something to get myself there when in fact I’m actually still just waiting for an answer. So – although I hoped I would be moving by November 1st, it looks more like mid-November or December will be likely at this point. It’s bugging me in particular today because I was supposed to be looking for a place to live this weekend and now I’m not going to be doing that (unless something changes in the next two days).

In other news Darren (and by extension his support committee which in large part is me) are being gleefully attacked by anonymous radicals on portland indymedia (who are probably the same people who tried to have my feed removed from anarchoblogs yesterday). I would post my thoughts on this, but really – I don’t think it would make one whit of difference.

I still have to write about the fishes from storm bay (a dead one and a glowing one) – hopefully I’ll have some time soon to do just that!

Zooom….

Between getting back from Storm Bay late on Sunday night (boat mishap – still need to write the update on that one – suffice to say we had a lot of fun and I’ve got at least two fish stories to tell) – and heading out tomorrow for Portland – this week has been busy. Instead of a proper update I leave you with the above photo taken on the Sechelt Inlet last Friday evening. I will write all when I return.

Subscribing

You can now subscribe to my blog again – a feature that got broken a long time ago when I upgraded WordPress and switched themes. Go to https://red-cedar.ca/subscribe.php and put your email address in there (you will have to scroll to the bottom, I haven’t got the template to work quite right yet). You will receive a confirmation email with a link to click on and then you will be subscribed.

Subscribers will be notified via email of each post that I make to the blog – and the list of subscribers will be used for nothing else.

Ramada inns look the same everywhere.

They really do. My hotel room in Abbotsford looks identical to the one I stayed in during a trip to Kamloops a year ago. I guess the point is that you could be anywhere so where the hell are you when you stay in these places? Oh yeah – generica – lost in the ramada zone.

It’s weird.

An update about nothing at all.

I think I’m more fun when I drink coffee. I really do. Almost two weeks since I drank a cup and I feel pretty flat these days – but that might also be because I’m still in work/moving limbo (and yes, it’s driving me batty!) I’m hoping that the fact I’ve got a busy few weeks coming up will help to kickstart my energy a little bit – this weekend in Storm Bay, next weekend in Portland (visiting Darren for the first time since the arrest), and the next weekend after that in Victoria (looking for a place to live if all goes well). It’s likely I’ll be working in the interior for a few days in October as well….

I really need to get on this whole packing thing if I’m going to be on top of moving for November. Now that the fall rush is on, I’m really glad I took it a bit easy in August and didn’t go anywhere. At some point I’m going to have to book real holidays (taking a couple days off here and there isn’t really cutting it) – but that won’t happen until at least December the rate I’m going.

I just agreed to come into work Monday rather than working at home. I hope this buys me some good workplace Karma for going to Victoria.
