More apocalypse, less angst
I just checked the weather forecast for Sunday (moving day), hoping to see it won’t be raining… and lo, rain is not predicted – but snow flurries are!
And I’m getting sick.
My timing… oy, my timing.

on the first of february 1991, i moved house in edmonton in -45c weather. we loaded all my stuff up into the open bed of a small, rented pickup truck — it was exposed to the outside for maybe an hour.
when we started to unload, i noticed that my clock radio’s power cord was frozen *solid*. it was jutting out like a dousing rod… and being the jackass i am, i proceeded to dance around the back yard saying things like “look at me! i’m dousing for better fm reception!”… until i winged the power cord on the side of the fence, and it snapped right off. i don’t think dt was there to witness the actual breakage… but he sure witnessed my foul mood afterwards
