A decision, half-way in the middle.

Some of you will be glad, some of you will be sad – but I`ve come to the decision that moving is a must at this point, and because of the slow pace of bureaucracy, the move will be to Vancouver in the interim (probably for the next year).

They haven’t said no to Victoria – in fact it looks very plausible – but first a number of things need to be ironed out and I don’t want to sit around the Sunshine Coast all winter waiting for them to get sorted. So Vancouver, December 1st… and I’ve already started looking for a place to live (would also be willing to go for a November 15th move date – my schedule is really stupid in Nov and Dec so the sooner I can do it the better really).

Everything seems very hectic right now and I’m relieved to have come to a decision more than anything else. It’s not even so much a decision as the recognition that all signs are pointing me to Vancouver at the moment (work, union, proximity to friends) and rather than swim upstream, I’m going to let the river carry me a little ways.

So I’m excited with this even though it wasn’t exactly what I was planning for (or maybe especially because it wasn’t what I was planning for). Now onto the onerous job of packing – and paring down (rents have gotten a mite more expensive since I last lived in Van).

  1. Oh My goodness the moving drama.. The place we have been living in for two years has been for sale for the past four months, and the lanlord wanted us out
by Oct 1st… we found a place, across the island and rented it…now the old place is sold, and the prospective new owners wants to know if we are interested in a long term rental! My head hurts…

  2. Yay! And Shawn is back and at my house, and he says yay too. Vancouver gleefully awaits your arrival.
